Kitchen Renovation on Four Wood Drive
kitchen remodeling project in Matthews, NC
Project Overview
This kitchen renovation completely transformed an outdated space into a bright, timeless, and highly functional kitchen designed for everyday living. The renovation features white shaker cabinetry with stacked upper cabinets extending to the ceiling, creating a custom built-in appearance while maximizing storage space. Quartz countertops were paired with a willow sage honed marble tile backsplash to bring texture and contrast into the design, while brushed nickel cabinet pulls added a clean modern finish throughout the space.
The overall layout was updated to improve functionality, flow, and comfort while maintaining a classic aesthetic that will remain timeless for years to come. The finished kitchen now feels more open, organized, and inviting, combining practical design improvements with elevated finishes to create a space that is both beautiful and highly functional for the homeowner.

Challenge & Solution
Challenge:
One of the biggest challenges in the original kitchen layout was the placement of the dishwasher directly beside the corner sink. Whenever the dishwasher door was open while loading dishes, the area became very cramped and uncomfortable to move around in, making the space feel restrictive during everyday use.
Solution:
To improve the functionality and flow of the kitchen, the dishwasher was relocated to the opposite side of the sink and a base cabinet was added between the sink and dishwasher. This new layout created a much more comfortable amount of space while loading the dishwasher and significantly improved movement throughout the kitchen.
